Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.
First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.
Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? | | | Features: | |

Great 3rd book!Nov 16, 2009 Many times triliogies do not live up to the hype. You get bored by the last book. Not here! Brisinger proves to be even more of an addicting read than the first 2 books!
GoodNov 08, 2009 I can't wait for the fourth book. These books have great imagery and a fascinating plot line.
Brisingr--Too Much Description, Too Little MovementNov 05, 2009 I am disappointed with Brisingr. It seems that Paolini needs to hone his writing skills, do pre-writing, and create an outline to follow. The book drags on and you get the minutia of the land, the gore, etc. Characters who could have been more fully developed are given short shrift. Major events and even momenteous actions are breezed over callously. I'm not sure how much time Paolini and his editors spent on planning and designing the book; but Brisingr turns out to be a long, unweildy, meandering read that ends with the badly placed "hope for a better day" motif. After reading Brisingr, I really don't care to see what happens in the fourth book, especially if it rambles and, as we all expect, ends in the "Epic Battle" between Eragon and Galibrox, with Eragon, the underdog, killing Galibrox and freeing the world.
Not what i expectedNov 03, 2009 I bought this book because of the "Deluxe Edition" material, which wasn't quite what i expected.
The deluxe material consists of 2 VERY short chapters, the dwarf rune guide and the fold-out poster.
As always anything Paolini writes is good, even though it was a bit short.
The dwarf rune guide was on the other hand (in my opinion) a bit disappointing, it is a combination of different norse and Anglo-Saxon runes (Futhorc/Futhark)i personally expected a bit new.
The foldout-poster is rather nice, eventhough i wish it was larger and that i could hang it up
BRISINGRNov 02, 2009 This truly is the staring point of dreams, where there is enough glory and sorrow to go around.
